Here's the G6 motor (1991 B2600i) on the engine stand.

And the auto trans for the same truck (1991 B2600i)

Trust me, do you, maybe you should, there are 2600 injected engines made by MAZDA and there are mpvs with 2500 g5 engines made by MAZDA. these are the ones reported to work. not some crappy mitsi pile of junk :-)

i notice they used the g6 flywheel on the fe3, fair enough, that was an 8 bolt pattern, what i don't get tho is why they used a f2t 240mm disc insted of the 250mm g6 disc? they both have the same spline count so.....?

and i also see that its a kia fe3 that was used, with a slightly different pattern than a typical f series truck engine.

blah internet is beeing crazy slow and im off to bed, if anyone would post up a f2 bell pic, and maybe the back of an f2 engine?

to be continued lol

if there ever was a 2.6L mazda engine i would love to see a picture of it. there are 2.2L trucks that used 4x4 transmissions with the bigger and smaller trans styles.
I'm confused here. I copied a statement from Wikipedia......

The G family of Mazda engines is a family of large straight-4 piston engines that was commercialize from 1989 to 1999. The series started at 2.6 L for the Mazda B-Series truck from '89-'93. Prior to that, a 2.6 L Mitsubishi engine was used.

I thought that the first 2.6 carbed motors were the Mitsubishi engines and the EFI 2.6's from 89-93 are Mazda engines.

Here's the F2/FE 5 speed trans in a 1987 B2000.

from what it looks like the auto bell looks to have a really close pattern to the g6 IMO

LOL! I just finally read the whole thread here! MJ PM'd me to post some pics and I read the first post, but never read the rest. I have 4 B's in the yard right now, if we could get 6 more over here I'd call my Chevy buddy and tell him to come over.......it would really piss him off to see 10 B's parked all over the yard!

He gets on me for working on B's instead of my 55 Chevy and all the other classics I have in the garages! I think it's funny!

I went to a truck meet the other night and there were 20 trucks, 19 jap, one yank (which looked ridiculous here), about half the japs were Bs :-) Put a smile on my face regardless of the fact most were bagged or otherwise too low :-)

Yep I have it backwards- the earlier trucks b2600's are mitsubishi, the later trucks, b2600i's are MAZDA! Sorry for the confusion! So- in this case- the mazda G6 B2600i just might bolt to a MAZDA F-block!

hmmmmm, i've only ever delt with 1 auto trans in my life (removed that is) and it was to long ago to remember the details.

i do retract my statement about this not being able to work, what i would like to compare is the fwd f2t bellhousing pattern, as it has a 240mm clutch inside of it, and does run a different pattern than the typical f2 standard trans bell.

brian, your auto bell does look like exactly the same pattern as my b2600i standard trans.... and exactly the same as axle's auto b2600i trans too.

man thats really weird.... i do seem to remember seeing some extra bolt holes on the back of my f2t engine, and the f2 i pulled out as well......

hey fred, had you of known this i bet you could have avoided that whole thing with grinding your bell and shaving the flywheel down too.
