Sounds like your gonna have a very interesting vacation, Brian. In my opinion the only thing high maintenance on a daily driven turbo vehicle is if you start changing pipe sizes for the turbo cause then you start blowing pipes. The buddy with the eclipse split a piece of aluminum piping long ways at rod runs. Had to drive the normally hour long drive back doing 50mph and no boost.

Sorry I didnt have enough time to elaborate on that last post much, but as long as your intercooler is in the same place and you havent changed tubing size or routing yeah basically maintenance is the same. If you upgrade to bigger intercooler, tubing, and turbo and start making twice as much boost as stock then maintenace schedule changes from every 3 months to every 3 days. Oh and ive been thinking about the custom wide body kit. I was looking at mazzdogs truck i think it was mazzdogs, and i think im gonna use 4wd body panels and completely eliminate all the body lines. I think it will look pretty sweet.

I've seen a few people that eliminate the body lines. I seen one older S-10 probably mid 80's.

The guy shaved the body lines but then he made new body lines down low on the body that
made it look like a full size Chevy. He even put the full size chevy tail lights on the truck, I
dont remember what he put on the front. the truck was primed when I seen it. That was like
21 or so yrs ago.

He modified some dually fenders to fit the S-10 bedside and put one really wide tire on the
back (12" maybe 15" wide) the bed was tubbed. He put some of those fake dually hub caps
on it.

It looked sweet.

I don't know what he used to make the new body line, but I hope it wasn't all bondo! It will
crack later.

prolly just cut the body lines out of a full sized chevy and then welded them. Theres a s10 that had the full sized tailights and full sized grill and head lights around town with a 350sbc in it. Its pretty quick. I think it will look sweet though. I was thinking eliminate the body lines and using green pen striping to break up the truck. It would be very clean.

This sounds like a pretty sweet build up you are doing, for the interior I think a custom dash would look sweet, also for the seats you might want to consider getting them reupholstered, if you dye them they will eventually bleed and fade. For the engine I'd say turbo would be pretty sweet but costly to do right, although a cammed high compression twin carbed engine would be sweet. Good luck on the build and keep us posted, also if you decide to custom build a dash I'd advise building out of fiberglass, it'll be light weight and easier to get the curves right.

Well this is what ive been thinging on for the dash i know fiberglass is the material of choic but im old school. I cant weld worth a crap but my buddy is a fabricator. So im thinking im gonna have do a custom dash out of thin diamond plate aluminum and tig it all up. then it will be black with green ribets. The door panels and headliner will be done to match and i have a set of jdm rx7 seats that are alread black and grey in perfect condition.I think it will be sweet. Its prolly gonna be turbo maybe twin weber design maybe not turbo setup want be that expensive manifold from a 626 turbo prolly gonna get pulled form a 12 valve cummins. Intercooler from somewhere got some research to do there. Im throwin around some ideas glad to see you got in on its been mostly me and brian so far, but help is appreciated keep posting im gonna have plenty of questions.

well I went juckyard hopping today looking for mazda stuff and honda stuff for my buddy, and i found a gem in the rough, an 84 sundowner with a good rearend for 100$. Went to another junkyard 1st hood i popped found a 1990 miat with a good motor and trans owner wasnt there so couldnt price me miata but im going back tommorrow and getting the sundowner rearend no more 3200rpms at 70mph.

well the local jy is removing my rearend as we speak ill post pics later. My onlly concern is the perches are 3 inches closer together than mine is so idont if i will be able to get by with out moving them or not.

well actually no question i want be able to.

Just cut the ones off your current rear end and have your buddy weld them in the correct place on the sundowner rear end.

To make sure they are straight, once you cut them off of the B2200 or 2000 rear end you can bolt them in place on the leafs and then set the sundowner rear end into place, roll it back & forth until you get the 3 degree angle you need on it and then tack it, check everything and make sure its right. Then weld it up.

You can get new spring perches at www.speedwaymotors.com and probably www.Jegs.com

If you by chance buggered them up when you cut them off they wouldn't fit back on correctly.

speedwaymotors Weld-On Spring Pad For 3' Axle Tubes $12.99

Yeah that would be easier, I didn't know if the internal parts were interchangeable. I never tore apart a Mazda rear end.

I did an old 66 mustang rear end once, its kinda scary doing that the first time.

I tried to put a shift kit in a 1967 mustang with a C4, it was working when I took it apart but it didn't when I put it back together..................never attempted it again. LOL

lol well brian i intend to do a swap thread on this project bc the idea was bounceing around the tech section. nothing inside the rearend is interchangable including just stump also the driveshaft needs to be completly modified.

Also while ive had the truck in the garage working on the rearend ive added a fiberglass bed cover and im doing away with the stupid looking mudflaps. Mudflaps are 1 thing but these dont even have the chrome girls on them.

Well rearend is almost in after racking up a 500$ bill of parts to make it work. Lot more expensive than i previously thought it was going to be. If it would ever stop raining i could finish it up. I had to pull it out of the garage. I had to get my buddys truck ready to paint and lowered by rod runs.

well just traded for a b2600 4x4 parts truck. So now ive got a set 4x4 fenders and bed front bumper, torsion bars and rearend. The rest will get scrapped unfortunately motor and tranny are gone.

Pics coming as soon as he brings it to me. And I might be redoing my rearend swap using the 2600 rearend so it want rub my frame depends on how long the 2600 one is.
