Default Led Signals

alright ive been trying to figure this out 4 hours with no success mainly just on the internet. i wired up my LEDs i got today from superbrightleds.com and some 6ohm 50watt resistors that i got off ebay. i got the rear signals/brake/tail lights working great. as 4 the front ones i wired up the resistors hoping they would work great but they dont even flash. when i put the stock bulb back in it they flash tho.. idk what i did wrong or what i am doing wrong but i cant figure it out.

heres what the tail looks like in reverse and the hazards on. clear tail lights too thnx to DJMOJO

It seems like there is still not enough resistance to trip your flasher.

There are a few ways to fix this.
1) Buy an electronic flasher made for LED's.
2) Add the large ceramic resistors for more resistance. (which it looks like you tried)
3) Leave the stock bulbs hooked up, and just tap the LED's off them instead of removing them. Then just paint the bulbs black and zip tie them behind out of the way. (The cheap and easy way, lol.)

thought about that bulb hiding trick lol. do u know how big of a resistor could be used? n idk where anyone would get a electronic led flasher 4 these trucks. it just does not seem likely any company would make them.

and even bfore i had resistors they didnt flash with the leds

You can get the resistors and the electronic LED flashers (but make sure it actually says on there that it's for LED's, because they make both), at just about any major auto parts stores now. O'Reilly, Napa, Auto zone, etc... Look in there tuner section.

this is how i wired them up. i hooked a resistor to the brake light wire n ground then a resistor to the tail light wire n ground i think they share the same ground. the signal i just wired a resistor the 2 wires that come out. same with up front but the fronts dont work with the led bulbs in them.. r 6 ohm 50 watt resistors just not enough draw or did i just wire them wrong?

Try the resistor on the positive wire?

do u mean positive only? not hooked to any ground?

I'm not sure I'm following your explanation.
The resistor should be wired in series.

The resistor, does it just have one wire to hook it up?

If so thats what I meant was just run it in line on the positive wire to the LED since the truck may be sharing a ground for all the lights, this would most likely correct the problem with the lights working the way they were.

2 wires on the resistors but i think ill give that a try tommorrow. hook em up inline instead of parallel. thats should prolly work hopefully

no you should need them in parrallel to increase the load on the flasher. have you tried putting the original bulbs back in the way it is right now and see if it flashes? (leave the resistors installed)

ya i stated that in the first post the stock bulbs work fine with the resistors... so im not getting enough load. could a 8ohm resistor work or something or would that b too much load? has anybody done this swap cuz it doesnt seem like it??

The resistor just replaces the factory bulb, that's all it's there for. Hook it up just like the bulb is (one side of the resistor to each wire).

did that to start off and the front signals just dont work with the leds period... they dont flash or turn on ever. but the flash rate for the rears stays **** near the same as stock. the first thing i did was wire them all up one wire to the ground and one wire the power on every bulb that needed resistors. front signals just dont work EVER thats y i ask do i need more load? maybe just on the front signals
