No one on here has ever posted having an interferance issue with timing before, even with the .070" less clearance I had from a performance cam, the head and deck being shaved I never had a problem bending the valves and I probably set the timing on that thing a dozen times, even bumped the starter a few times because I was too lazy to turn the engine around,
lol. I never checked how much clearance I had left like a should have but with the engine cold it still had room to spare because once the engine warms up actual valve clearance with the piston is less because of thermal expansion, crank flex, wrist pin flex, etc...
Again that is assuming a stock U.S. engine, if someone installed the pistons backwards or it was JDM block, or something aftermarket almost anything can happen in which case valve to piston clearance should always be checked.
