Did I mention how jealous I am! Making some quick progress, I like! The bag job looks pretty solid, nothin a little sanding and rust paint cant fit Me and JG definitely need to come and check it out one day! You should throw on your black rims for ur diesel project for the time being, do u know if they tuck? oh and was it the KMS car parts shop that u got the switch box from? thats where i got my shaved door kit and i noticed they had alot of airbag stuff too.

Time for a rattle can for the under side of the truck. I forget what rust looks like here in sunny California

yah thats the place i was talking about, i never knew they had all that kind of stuff? im pretty sure the black rims won't work on this truck, they have a pretty narly offset, hence why im putting the 4wd sheet metal on the diesel project. jarrod has already come by to check it out, your next lol.
so i sorted out some wiring issues with the valves i had last night (back left would dump but wouldn't fill , made for an interesting drive over the bridge lol) and got that all squared away today, then my new check valve stuck open and melted my compressor well down to the store tomorrow, see if they'll give me a deal on a new compressor or 2
oh and the truck has had this weird driveshaft shake at take off and anything over 90kph. i figured it was something with the steady bearing as it happened on an old silver truck i had years ago. well when i was under fixing some wiring i figured out my problem...
lol looks like ill be off to pick apart for a new one pretty quick

well being the white truck is getting the tranny swapped out this week, i pulled out the driveshaft for now and through it in the black truck. YAY no more clunking or vibration lol ill grab another shaft next time im out at pick apart still waiting on the new VIN tag for the new dash, got both compressors in it now, when they're both going it fills the tank really fast just gotta figure out a new relay, a bigger alternator, and perhaps a new unloader system
does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the stock carb and choke working if i throw in a bigger alt? like a GM unit? maybe a 1 wire or a 3 wire?

I would assume it should work fine with a higher current alternator, it would just present less of a load on the alternator.

You can most likely use any switched 12 volt source for the choke.

Hey Ken, I just added my chrome 100amp GM alternator in my truck.(I will post pics later) What I did was run the chocke cable to the wiper motor connector and spliced it there. Check with your volt meter of course, looking at the conector that comes from the fire wall to the wiper motor from the passenger fender, it's the one on the bottom left that has 12V on ignition. After you splice, check that you have 12V on the Choke itself. there are other 12V on ignition wires there, but all are meant to be hooked to sensors and it will drop the voltage as soon as you hook it up to your choke and set off a warning light on your dash. Ask me how I know

the thing im worried about is the stock choke uses a 5v output doesn't it? i don't want to burn out the coil by running it on 12v. this is a stock carb im running not a weber like all you guys.

yep, you are right. But, there are other sources in there that put out that much voltage as well. I ran into a couple while poking around. you just gotta poke around. I think there is another coming from the passenger side firewall. But make sure that once hooked up tothe choke, it doesn't cancel the voltage out.

Sirius Satelitte radio power cords reduce from 12v to either 5v or 6v. If you happened to be able to get ahold of one and wire it in. Just a thought if you can't come up with anything.

Or just get a 7805 +5 volt regulator IC, cheap and effective.
