B2300 Torque Specs

Main Caps:

First Step: hand tight
Sec Step: 50-59 lb/ft
3rd Step: 75-85 lb/ft

Rod Bolts:

First Step: 25-30 lb/ft
Sec Step: 30-36 lb/ft

Lower Front Cover:

First Step: 10-11 lb/ft

Oil Sump:

First Step: 15-22 lb/ft

Oil Pan:

First Step: 124-141 lb/in

Water Pump:

First Step: 15-22 lb/ft

Flywheel:

First Step: 54-64 lb/ft
Note: Tighten in star pattern.

Clutch Pressure Plate:

First Step: 15-24 lb/ft
Note: Tighten in star pattern.

Flex Plate (AT only):

First Step: 54-64 lb/ft
Note: Tighten in star pattern.

Cam Thrust Plate:

First Step: 6-9 lb/ft

Cylinder Head:

First Step: 52 lb/ft*
Sec Step: 52 lb/ft
3rd Step: Turn an additional 90-100 degrees

* The editor believes this is a typo in the factory manual
and recommends the first step be torqued at 30 lb/ft.

Oil Pump Pulley:

First Step: 52-70 lb/ft

Cam Sprocket:

First Step: 52-70 lb/ft

Timing Belt Tensioner (spring bolt):

First Step: 30-40 lb/ft

Timing Belt Tensioner (braket bolt):

First Step: 25-33 lb/ft

Timing Cover (center bolt?):

First Step: 6-8 lb/ft

Harmonic Balancer/Lower Timing Sprocket:

First Step: 92-121 lb/ft

Editor's Note: The torque on this bolt is critical if it is
not fully tightened crankshaft damage will occur.
